What is Mailsort?

Mailsort is a system developed by Royal Mail which puts the responsibility of sorting
into the hands of the Mailing house. Put simply the mailing house shares the work with
the local Royal Mail sorting office to gain a reduction in the overall postage cost.

It is ideal if you are sending larger volumes of letters, large letters (C4 etc) or A3
packets and packets. Direct mail in particular can benefit from this service as most
mailing campaigns usually fit into the criteria layed out by the Royal Mail. Of course if
you are unsure just ask us!

There are 3 different levels of Mailsort. Level 1 is next working day, level 2 within
3 days of posting and level 3 within 7 working days after the day of posting.

There are also Mailsort 120 and 700 services whish offer higher discount on letter sized
items so long as the address details are printed in an OCR font so they can be read by
the sorting machine. This way the process is faster and less labour intensive for the
Royal Mail allowing them to offer even more dicsount!
